NewTown Writers is a gay and lesbian writers' salon based in Chicago, Illinois, and holds fortnightly workshop-style meetings where members share works-in-progress. With a mission of fostering gay literature, NewTown Writers publishes the literary anthology Off The Rocks and the e-zine Swell.

Since its founding in 1980, NewTown Writers has guided countless writers in finding their literary voices. Members include award-winning authors with many publishing credits, as well as emerging writers sharing their first effort.
